5.0.7 Safe to install
This application is designed to facilitate essential functions on an iPhone in situations where manual interaction with the screen is impractical or impossible. Users can perform a variety of tasks, such as taking photos, recording audio or video, controlling the flashlight, playing sounds, reporting their location or time via speech, dictating notes, or counting objects without needing to directly tap the screen. This is especially useful during activities like walking, working hands-free, or in low-light environments.
The app relies on the iPhone’s proximity sensor located at the top of the device, near the front camera on the left side. It recognizes two specific gestures:
- Cover + Left: Cover both the top area and the left side of the screen with your hand or other object.
- Hold: Cover the top area of the screen with your hand and maintain contact for at least ten seconds before releasing.
Possible methods of covering include using a hand, clothing, arm, face, body, or even a book. The app also requires an internet connection for functionalities involving location reporting.
Operational instructions are as follows:
- When the cover button is pressed, the app enters 'covering' mode; pressing the hold button puts it into 'holding' mode.
- In 'covering' mode, to initiate tasks like taking photos (default set at eight), recording video or audio, playing sounds, or recording notes, users must first cover and then lift the top of the screen. After approximately seven seconds, they can re-cover to stop the task.
- In 'holding' mode, performing similar actions requires covering the top without lifting. To cease a task, users simply lift their hand from the covered area.
For counting objects through speech, press the count button to activate a voice-based counter. When activated, covering the screen allows the counter to listen and tally objects spoken aloud in English.
The menu located at the bottom left provides five options:
- View Video Clips: Access recorded videos.
- Play Sound Files: Play, delete, or rename sound recordings.
- View Photos: Browse through stored images with previews; tapping an image closes this view.
- Select a Sound File for Playback: Choose specific recordings for listening; files may originate from in-app recordings or imported via iTunes file sharing.
- Talk Notes: Create and edit textual notes verbally or manually.
Practical application examples include:
Solution 1: Rapidly toggling flashlight during nighttime walks.
- Launch this app.
- Select the cover function.
- Select the flashlight control.
- Begin walking as usual.
- To turn on the flashlight: cover both top and left areas and then lift briefly; repeat for turning off by covering again.
Solution 2: Verbal reporting of current location while walking.
- Launch this app.
- Select the cover function.
- Select the location reporting feature.
- You may commence walking.
- To hear your location: cover and lift from top to activate speech; to stop listening: cover again and lift when desired.
Solution 3: Recording audio during classroom study sessions.
- Launch this app and confirm activation of sound recording mode.
- Select the cover function.
- Place your iPhone on your desk in a stable position.
- If you wish to record sound: place your hand over the top-left corner of the screen briefly and release to start recording; lift your hand to stop.
